CELEBRATE FAITHFUL HEARTS
Yeo Teck Seng
Celebrate Faithful Hearts
The original version of this song was written in June 2012 and was modified in dedication to the session members in December 2021. The image I had was the session members standing in front of the congregation during installation Sunday at the Zion sanctuary. “Here we are gather .. as in the Hebron church is presented with the “faithful hearts” dedicated to serve the “King”. We need to celebrate our servant leaders, their willingness to stand forward and make a difference in our community.
Celebrate Faithful Hearts
(Dedicated to the Session Members)
Here we are gathered
Within the grace of God
Here in this moment
These faithful hearts
Here we are gathered
Here in this place
Celebrate these lives renewed
With joy and blessings
These lives that are given
To serve The King
Chorus
God of love and God of passion
Celebrate these lives in action
Do HIS work in tender moments
We praise God’s men in action
Friends of God and love in action
Celebrate God’s love emotions
In leadership and dedication
We praise in adoration
Bridge
Family of God in HIS presence
Praising HIM for faithful servants
To lead in quiet submission
For HIS cause and resurrection
(Repeat Chorus)

A PILGRIM'S JOURNEY
Deaconess Lillian Yeo
A Pilgrim's Journey
This song started as a poem in my journal in September 2021 as an encouragement for myself to keep persevering. I was feeling discouraged and needed to remind myself to journey on despite fruitless circumstances . May it bring encouragement to you too to be faithful in your journey of faith.
A Pilgrim's Journey
My child, keep to the narrow road
Keep to the road of righteousness
Keep walking though it may be dreary
Jesus walked before you, walks with you
My child, listen to my whisper
Seek not the pleasures of this world
Nor turn your head to shiny glitter
Pilgrims walk by faith and not by sight
Chorus 1
My child, come know my name
Know my thoughts and plans for you
Are good and true, the father’s delight
They will steer you, pilgrims to the light
My child, bear fruits of righteousness
Fruits that delights your Father’s eyes
He will guide, strengthen and lead the way
Fill you with joy that He will provides
Chorus 2 :
My child, come know my name
Know my thoughts and plans for you
Are good and true, the father’s delight
They will steer you, pilgrims to the light
Journey on, faithful one, journey on

IF NOT FOR GOD'S GRACE 若非主恩

If Not for God's Grace
On 12 April, Sis Ming Li asked me if I would like to try composing the 30th anniversary song. My first instinct was to reply her: "Must have creativity in order to achieve this" But subsequently she replied me simply: “It is by the Holy Spirit's leading and prompting.”
This sentence reminds me that hymn creation needs to be inspired by the Holy Spirit; talent and creativity alone are not enough. The next morning, during my devotions, I prayed to God: “Oh Lord, if you want me to compose this song, please give me your anointing and guidance.” Miraculously, after about half an hour, a tune that I’ve never heard before popped into my mind. Driven by surprise and curiosity, I picked up the harp and played the tune, and then wrote down the notation for the song. Excitedly, I started to fill in the lyrics. At this time, four words appeared in my mind— “If not for God’s grace”. I started to fill in the lyrics beginning with these four characters, and even used it as the song title. Little did I know, I wrote a poem in one morning. For someone who doesn't understand music theory, to be able to compose a poem in such a short period of time, I can't think of any other better reason than a miracle!
God used me to write songs when I was weak in spirit and faith; my heart was once again moved by the love of the Lord. However, due to my inferiority complex, I felt that the song wasn’t suitable to be sang in the congregation. Hence I did not hand over my song to Pastor Shu Mei. Only until the end of May, under the encouragement and guidance of Pastor Shu Mei, I revised and wrote the lyrics for the poem, and submitted it on the 12th of June, exactly two months after I was given this request.
I give thanks to the Lord for not giving up on me even though I am lazy and feeble. He still gave me this amazing grace to write this song during the circuit breaker period. May the Lord grant me a humble, teachable and grateful heart to obey and serve Him, with the confidence to rely on Him even in adversity. May all glory be to God the Father who loves me, knows me and helps me, Amen!
If Not for God's Grace
If not for God's grace, how can I gain strength?
If not for God's grace, how can I have peace and joy?
Thank you Lord for your support and care, leading the way and never giving up
Help me to humble myself, to rely on your grace
And to walk with the Lord all the days of my life
If not for God's grace, how can the church be established?
If not for God's grace, how can the believers be united in spirit?
If not for God's grace, how can we worship together?
If not for God's grace, how can we praise in unison?
Thank the Lord for His mercy and love, for leading us to walk in the Lord's love
Renew our heart so that we can humbly commit ourselves to glorify the Lord’s name forever.
Relying on the grace of the Lord, we will honour the will of the Lord
Relying on the grace of the Lord, we will spread the gospel
Relying on the grace of the Lord, we are of one heart and mind
Thank the Lord for your grace, all glory be to you

HEBRONITES UNITE
Audrey Teo
Hebronites Unite
When I wrote this song, I was inspired to compose something hopeful especially in view of the pandemic (hence the lines 'in our ever-changing world' & ''even on our darkest roads' in the chorus). One of my first inspirations for the lyrics/song title was rhyming 'Hebronite' with 'unite'.
I was further inspired lyrically to write about how the inter-generation within the church can support one another especially in verses 3 & 4. I was thrilled to be able to include our theme verse Colossians 1:10 in the bridge too.
Hebronites Unite
Hebronites
Brothers and sisters in Christ
Let's all unite
And praise the one who sustains us through it all
Hebronites
Let us remember the hope
we have in Christ
And be the salt and light of the world
Let's shine for him!
Chorus
In our ever changing world
He is our faithful deliverer!
Even on our darkest roads
He is the light onto our paths!
Young and old
Spurring each other on
Let's keep the fight
Putting on the full armour of our God
Young and old
Learning and growing together
Let's keep on loving
Just as Christ first loved us, we pass it on
Let it flow!
Chorus
In our ever changing world
He is our faithful deliverer!
Even on our darkest roads
He is the light onto our paths!
Bridge (Colossians 1:10)
Let's walk in a manner worthy of God
Fully and pleasing to him
Bearing fruit in every good work
Increasing in knowledge of God!
Chorus
In our ever changing world
He is our faithful deliverer!
Even on our darkest roads
He is the light onto our paths!
(Repeat Chorus)

WALK BY FAITH
Fong Yoke Inn
Walk by Faith
When I was younger, I thought I understood "walk by faith, not by sight." Yes, with the mind, it seemed easy enough. However, it has taken my heart a whole lifetime to appreciate and apply when faith has to take the front seat to lead me to see God’s loving purpose beyond the present challenge.
Walk by Faith
“Walk by faith, no dismay
In all your days
I will lead the way
Be close you must stay.
Read my wonderful plan
How I save man
Seek to understand
See, my work is grand.
The days ahead are bright
You will see the light
Fight the good fight”
A living sacrifice
As we follow Christ
For He paid the price
To redeem our lives.
So we plead earnestly
To love truly
Give generously
And serve humbly.

A YOUTHFUL PRAYER
Lee Rui Qi
A Youthful Prayer
'A Youthful Prayer' is what it means, that acknowledges how far God has brought our church and our vision to be a light that ministers to the community we are in. There is also a part that calls for God's help and our constant need for His grace in our lives, showing how we will continue walking with God and relying on Him for everything we may need.
A Youthful Prayer
We, a humble church so small,
A flicker in the dark.
By faith, we have come so far,
And now we stand this tall.
But now, wherein lies my heart?
Success and pride is my goal
O Lord, I am only dust
I pray, please bring me low
Pre-chorus
Cleanse us deeply, and fill us up
With Your Spirit,
In faith, now we are
Chorus 1
Walking with You, O Lord
Bearing fruit for You, O Lord
My heart and my hands, I give You my all
Help us walk with You, O Lord
Dear God, of heaven and of earth,
Your power knows no bounds
By grace, we have felt Your love,
Praise for You resounds
(Chorus 1)
Bridge
What shall I say,
When I’m in Your grace
Save me from my sin,
For I have unclean lips!
Chorus 2
So sanctify us now, O Lord
Make us more like You, O Lord
My heart and my hands, I give You my all
Sanctify us now, O Lord
Sanctify us now, O Lord
Sanctify us now, O Lord
Outro
We, a radiant church so bright,
Let the gospel be alive!

JOURNEY OF FAITH
Adeline Ang & Low Shoon Ern
Journey of Faith
‘Journey of Faith’ defines the past, present and future of Hebron. Starting out small with only a handful of passionate youths that wanted to serve and worship God together. 50 years later, we are where currently are only due to having faith and trusting in God’s guidance for us. It’s also a prayer where we ask of God to continue guiding us along the way as we do His will. The ending of the song is a dream into the future where the next generation of Hebronites will continue on God’s vision and plans for us.
Journey of Faith
Starting out small with our hearts ablaze
A handful of kids singing songs of praise
God gave us this place to call our own
You planted us here, to make Your name known.
Chorus
Lord, keep the gospel alive in us
Fill us with Your will, we trust
Let us make our walk worthy of You
Let us bear fruit in good work for You
Fifty years flown before we know,
You guided each step and the way to go
You hold us in the palm of Your hand
All we needed was faith, and to trust in Your plan
Chorus
Lord, keep the gospel alive in us
Fill us with Your will, we trust
Let us make our walk worthy of You
Let us bear fruit in good work for You
Bridge
Show us the way
Guide us we pray
As we do Your will
You’re guiding us still
Chorus
Lord, keep the gospel alive in us
Fill us with Your will, we trust
Let us make our walk worthy of You
Let us bear fruit in good work for You
A new generation will lead the way
Lord, give us Your Vision and show us, we pray
Our journey of faith has still just begun
Lord, show us the way and keep us as one

SONG OF GLORY, SONG OF PRAISE
Yeo Teck Seng & Elder Tony Wong
Song of Glory, Song of Praise
It was a season in my life that I started writing lyrics during the Christmas season and this set of lyrics was crafted in November 2007. I started with the images of Christmas, the key characters of the Christmas story. Mary, Joseph, Jesus and the Shepherds. I featured Joseph right after Mary just so we do not forget his role in the story. The other stanzas and chorus were dedicated to a respond from the redeemed, our responsibility to remind others and ourselves about the true story of Christmas. The need to remember that beautiful nativity scene shall continue to shine in our hearts especially during Christmas.
Song of Glory, Song of Praise
Mary sacred birth of Christ
Joseph stayed along His side
Sheperds watched in awe that night
Emmanuel has come tonight
Proclaim the Saviour King has come
Glory, glory, God’s own Son!
Gift of love, salvation plan
Glory, glory to the Lamb!
Songs of glory, songs of praise
Angels sang with ceaseless praise
Holy night when Jesus came
Remember the night the Baby came
God with us, salvation came
Holy plan of saving grace
Guiding star that shone so bright
Shining in our hearts tonight
Songs of glory, songs of praise
Angels sang with ceaseless praise
Holy night when Jesus came
Remember the night the Baby came
Remember the night the Baby came
