Hebron started out in 1971 as a Sunday worship service held in a HDB flat in Margaret Drive. Over the next 25 years, the fellowship grew and we constantly had to move. In 1996, we finally settled here in Choa Chu Kang. From a group of 10 in 1971, Hebron now sees a weekly attendance of 800 across our four main services.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

1971<\/h3>

A group of young adults from Mount Carmel Gospel Mission start a Sunday school. In January 1971, a simple Sunday worship service is started in an HDB flat and is later christened the Mount Hebron Gospel Mission.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

1977 - 1979<\/h3>

Mt. Hebron moves to the home of her members Philip and Caroline Lee in Holland Drive. The Lees move into a bungalow in Shepherd\u2019s Drive two years later, and the church moves in with them. Attendance flourishes to a weekly average of 70. In compliance with the Singapore government\u2019s advisory on religious activities in residential properties, Hebron moves out of the house church setting in 1979 and rents Ebenezer Chapel in Minden Road for her Sunday activities. By this time, young couples in the group are getting married and raising families. A children\u2019s club is started for toddlers and young ones.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

1983 - 1987<\/h3>

The Ebenezer Chapel is closed for renovations, and Hebron uses the premises of Calvary Pandan Bible-Presbyterian Church for worship and Sunday school. In 1985, Hebron, still a part of Mt. Carmel, later moves in to the latter's new premises at Clementi Bible Centre and occupies an afternoon slot. Attendance continues to grow, and members are encouraged to be attached to cell groups for enhanced pastoral care and accountability. In 1987, Hebron\u2019s Koinonia (Greek for \u2018fellowship\u2019) ministry begins.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

1988 - 1991<\/h3>

In 1988, Hebron had her first full-time pastor. In 1990, a Mandarin worship service is started with a full-time staff member. The church is registered with the Registrar of Societies in 1991 as Hebron Bible-Presbyterian Church.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

1993 - 1996<\/h3>

Hebron BP Church successfully tenders for a parcel of land in Choa Chu Kang Street 52. This comes after a few failed attempts to bid for other parcels of land offered by HDB. The building is complete in 1996 and Hebron is ready to welcome the neighbourhood. Interested and curious residents flock to the worship services. The Sunday school is popular with the many young families settling down in the relatively new estate.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

2001 - 2003<\/h3>

The church launches plans for the extension of the building. Phase 2 is completed in May 2003 with the addition of two new sanctuaries: Zion and Bethel, and many more classrooms. Church attendance balloons to 500, and a second English worship service (SEWS) is inaugurated.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

2004 - 2010<\/h3>

A generation of Hebronites responded the call to full-time service with two pastors and two missionaries added to the work. More pastors and ministry staff from other churches joined the team to give it vibrance in plans and programmes.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

2011 - 2013<\/h3>

Hebron recounted God's blessings on her 40th Anniversary. The church also re-staged the musical Give Me this Mountain to re-tell the story of Hebron's journey for the generations that did not witness the era of Hebron that did not have a permanent home. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

2014 - Present<\/h3>

The founding generation hands over the reins of leadership to a new generation. A new vision is cast, for Hebron to be \"a radiant church where the gospel is actively lived in every Hebronite\".<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
